Eastland County promotes fairness, dignity, respect for victims of crime during this week, April 18 – 24. Communities throughout the nation will rally to honor and support victims of crime. With the theme, Crime Victims’ Rights: Fairness. Dignity. Respect, 2010 National Crime Victims’ Rights Week will recall the ideals that inspired the decades-long struggle of the victims’ rights movement and challenge all Americans to honor victims’ rights.

Denim Day Raises Sexual Assault Awareness
~ Eastland County Crisis Center, Inc.
In 1997, a teenage girl in Italy was picked up by her 45-year-old driving instructor for her first lesson. He took her to an isolated location, pulled her out of the car and forcefully raped her. Despite threats that she would be killed if she told anyone, the girl reported the incident, and the case was prosecuted. The driving instructor was convicted of rape and sentenced to jail.

A friend requested my help as she tried to help another friend with her family research. She seemed to have questions about the organization of information.
We quickly went to TheTXGenWebProject and clicked on Counties, went down to W, and then clicked on Wise. Oh, what a pleasant surprise. This lady had relatives from four sides of her family in that county. We found so many actual county records.
